Membership Experience Week: A Record-Breaking Celebration of El Paso’s Business Community

Last month, the El Paso Chamber hosted its first-ever Membership Experience Week, a high-energy, one-of-a-kind campaign that brought together business leaders, volunteers, and community members to grow and strengthen our Chamber network. The El Paso Electric headquarters transformed into a vibrant hub of collaboration and friendly competition as local leaders joined forces to share the value of Chamber membership across the region.

The results speak volumes: 165 new members joined the Chamber during the campaign, propelling El Paso to #2 in Texas and #5 in the nation for this type of membership drive. These numbers reflect not just impressive growth, but the strength and unity of our business community.

Led by dynamic team chairs and captains, volunteers spent the week making calls, sharing stories, and connecting with businesses to highlight why being part of the Chamber matters. From advocacy and visibility to access to resources, Chamber membership continues to be a powerful driver of growth for businesses across our region.

Beyond the numbers, Membership Experience Week was a celebration of community, leadership, and the belief that stronger businesses build a stronger El Paso. THANK YOU to everyone who participated, from our team chairs and captains to our volunteers, partners, and new members. Together, we’ve set the tone for even greater things ahead.

Support Your Chamber. Support Your Community.

Today is a big day for the El Paso Chamber, and for our entire community.

Early giving for El Paso Giving Day is officially underway, and today also marks Support Your Local Chamber Day, a powerful reminder of the role chambers of commerce play in driving local economies and uplifting the businesses that keep them strong.

Your support today is critical. When you give to the El Paso Chamber Foundation, you’re fueling programs that uplift businesses, strengthen workforce development, advocate for our region, and invest in the leaders of tomorrow. Ricardo Mora, President & CEO of the El Paso Chamber, will match donations up to $3,000, doubling your impact.

This is your moment to act. Supporting the Chamber Foundation isn’t just about one donation; it’s about joining a community-wide effort to build a stronger, more connected Borderplex. Whether you’re a business owner, community leader, or proud El Pasoan, your gift today ensures we can continue making a difference for years to come.

It's not about "me", it's about "WE". Give today and be part of something bigger!

Why Government Shutdowns Matter — and Why Your Voice Counts

Government shutdowns don’t just stall Washington—they ripple through every level of our economy. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce notes that shutdowns reduce funding for small business programs, delay permitting, disrupt national security operations, and slow public services. During the 2018–19 partial shutdown, the U.S. economy lost an estimated $11 billion in output, with $3 billion never fully recovered. Here in El Paso, where federal activity is deeply tied to cross-border trade, workforce programs, and local operations, the impacts are especially pronounced. Congresswoman Veronica Escobar has emphasized that shutdowns jeopardize federal workers’ pay, harm small businesses, disrupt military operations, and hurt border communities like ours. To make sure El Paso’s business voice is heard, we’re launching a Climate Check survey to gather real-time feedback from local businesses. Your insights will help shape our advocacy efforts and strengthen our region’s position in these critical conversations.
