The City’s Economic and International Development Department continues to partner with Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs) to drive economic growth and strengthen community resources, focusing on supporting small businesses, empowering young adults, and advancing technology. The city is partnering with Borderplex Community Capital (BCC) to support small businesses by making financing more affordable. Through the BCC Interest Buy Down Program and the Frontera Future Fund, the city aims to provide essential financial resources that will help businesses in targeted areas grow and thrive, fostering a vibrant local economy.
In addition, the City of El Paso is collaborating with Junior Achievement of the Desert Southwest (JA) to empower opportunity young youth ages 16-25, through the Workforce Development Pathways for Opportunity Youth Program. This initiative provides essential workforce development skills training, career coaching and mentorship, and valuable job connections. Together, these resources help prepare the next generation of local talent and encouraging long-term career opportunities in the region.
The city is also committed to supporting El Paso’s technological advancement by backing projects that build up technology infrastructure.
