PTA Newsletter Special Edition
Our amazing PTA programs need amazing people like you to help keep them running next year. Without volunteers, several of our programs may collapse or won't run as well as they have in the past. Our students need your help!
There are a variety of both big and small ways that our parents and extended family members can help and be involved.  (Yes, you can ask grandparents, aunts, and uncles!)  It only takes a little effort to make a big difference!
Please email  volunteer@puestadelsolpta.org  to sign up or to find out more about any of these great programs. We can help match up your time and interests with a program that fits you.

Don't forget to join us at the annual
Wednesday, June 12 at 6 pm in the school library.
Open PTA Board Positions
Next year's PTA board  still needs a  Co-President  for Anne, a  Co-VP of Educational Enhancement  for Gjanje, and a  Co-VP of Fundraising  to keep funding all our programs.

Our PTA programs don't run themselves and our program chairs and committees need help to get the job done.

Step up and serve!  Our students deserve your support!
Spanish Immersion Through the Arts (SITA) Co-Chairs
IF Mexican Folkloric
Two co-chairs are needed to continue this amazing PTA program that brings art, literature, dance, and more from Spanish-speaking cultures to our students. A love of culture and arts is necessary. Speaking Spanish is helpful but not required. A resource list of past artists is available to get you started!
Find out more about the  SITA program  on our website.
Web Content Manager
Help keep the PTA website updated with all the information our Puesta del Sol community has come to depend on. Todd and Cindy will help you get up to speed quickly. The busiest time for this role is late August and September. You can do this job in your pajamas!
Newsletter Editor
Help keep our families informed and engaged by managing our twice monthly newsletter. Our current newsletter editor is changing roles for PTA and can cross train you now to help next year. This is a critical need, and again, you can do this one in your pajamas!
International Festival Co-Chair
Partner with Loreana and share the fun of coordinating one of our PTA's favorite events of the year! The International Festival is the culminating event of the school year where our students come together to perform cultural dances, songs, and music. With many moving parts, it helps to have support and we need it to continue this amazing event!

Please email volunteer@puestadelsolpta.org to find out more about any of these volunteer opportunites.

Membership Chair
Manage our annual membership drive and inform our school community about the many benefits of PTA membership. This is a low profile role with a minimal time commitment that really helps our PTA.
Programs Co-Registrar
Work with Shari and help her set up the web registrations for our after school programs such as Flamenco dance, Drama Club, Bomba del Sol dance, Math Olympiad, and more. This role is performed from home (in pajamas if you like!), doesn't take a lot of time, and full training is available. The only skills needed are attention to detail and a desire to support our students.
Spirit Wear Co-Chair
You and Melissa can help get our Spirit Wear program back on track so that all families can purchase Puesta del Sol t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, bags, and more and show their love of our school and our wonderful Puesta del Sol community. Email: president@puestadelsolpta.org if interested.
School Dance Chair
Organize a school dance next year! Past themes have been Sock Hop and 80's. Help us build even more school community and family engagement while having fun!
Reflections Co-Chair
Anne is looking for a partner to run our annual PTA Reflections program. Students can participate in this national PTA-sponsored arts competition and submit a theme-related artwork including visual arts, literature, video, and dance submissions. Your role is to help run the competition for our local Puesta del Sol PTA, submit the winners to the district level, and hopefully display our students' beautiful achievements at a Reflections gallery night.
Library Coordinator
Our fabulous library needs help to organize volunteers and set up training at the start of the year. Also help locate resources to manage the library's birthday book club and other small projects. When volunteers manage book shelving and checkout time, then our librarians can spend more time helping the students find books that match their interests!
Garden Club Co-Chair
Our amazing current Garden Club chair, Liz, could use a partner who loves working with kids and doesn't mind getting a little dirty. Green thumb not required.
School Supplies Coordinator
Interested in helping families save money and avoid going to 3 different stores for items in August? Want to help teachers inventory school supplies and ensure that they get what they need for their classrooms? Sign up to help manage parent-purchased classroom supplies for our students.
