Thank You James Dooley!
The PTA would like to extend a huge THANK YOU to James Dooley for his work coordinating yet another successful Science Fair for our students. This is the third year James has put on this school-wide event; we are so grateful for your time and passion, James!
Great job to all of the students who participated!
Feedback Wanted: Family Science & Engineering Night
We want to hear about your experience at the Family Science and Engineering Night on 5/10 so we can improve it for next year.  If you attended, please complete the survey by May 29.  If you didn't attend - we hope to see you there next year!
Passport Club- May 19
Friday, 5/19, 9:30am - 11:30am in the Puesta del Sol Library

Fun Fact (Spain):
Instead of the tooth fairy, Spanish children put their teeth under their pillow at night and wait for Ratoncito Perez, the Tooth Mouse, to come and exchange it for a gift.

May's Special Itinerary is Iran. Check out the SI bulletin boards in the cafeteria for great visual displays which contain the answers to the activities and copies of the SI.

Interested in volunteering ?? It is a great way to meet other parents and many students!
SOS Program Needs More Volunteers
We are in need of help to continue the SOS program in 2017-18

The Spanish Outside School (SOS) Program was piloted this year with great success.  Kids in 3 rd-5 th grades speak 100% in Spanish during their time engaging in the SOS program, and have fun doing it! An overview of the program can be found in this  SOS Youtube Clip.
To continue this program in 2017-18 the ISA committee needs volunteers to help organize and chaperone the sessions.  You child is automatically included if you are there!
Please contact Tena Hanson at to learn more.
Bake Sale Items Needed for 30th Anniversary Celebration
Calling All Bakers- We need your help!

We expect a big turn out at our 30th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 3rd - including current and graduate families of Puesta del Sol and the ISA program, community members, and friends of our wonderful school- which means we'll need a large amount and assortment of treats to sell at the PTA Bake Sale table. If baking is not your thing, store bought food (especially candy or items for those with food allergies) is very much appreciated as well.

Special Instructions:
Please ensure that there are NO tree nut or peanuts in any food, whether baking or buying.
Items need to be individually bagged to sell for $1.
If you can contribute, please email Annie at, so we can track our collection progress.
There will be a tub in the Puesta del Sol main office beginning on Tuesday, May 30th to collect items. You are also welcome to bring them directly to the event.

Thank you for your support!
