To vote in the 2026 Qualicum Beach election you must be registered to vote. There is an opportunity to register in advance of voting, or you may register at the time of in-person voting.
How do I Check if I am Registered to Vote?
You can contact the Town between 9 am and 4 pm, Monday to Friday (excluding holidays) to confirm you are registered and on the Provincial Voters’ List:

How Can I Register in Advance?
You may register to vote in advance of voting days in one of the two ways:
- In-person: Visit Town Hall by August 25, 2026 at 4 pm.

Online: Visit the Elections BC by August 18, 2026, to register or update your voter information.
What Other Ways Can I Register to Vote?
If you have not completed advance registration by the deadlines above, you may register at the time of voting on:
- Advance voting days - October 7 and October 14, 2026, or
- General voting day – October 17, 2026
Before you can vote you must register and provide identification verifying your identify and place of residence.
Acceptable Identification
- Electors registering for the first time must provide two pieces of identification that establish your identity, such as BC Driver’s Licence, BC ID, Care Card, SIN card, Citizenship Card, bank credit or debit card. At least one document must contain your signature. Photo ID is not required.
- Alternatively, electors may provide two pieces of identification verifying thier identity and make a solemn declaration regarding their place of residence.

Non-resident property electors must also bring evidence of ownership (recent Land Title Certificate) and a Consent Form signed by the majority of the property owners. Email elections@qualicumbeach.com for the required forms.
Elector Qualifications
Resident Electors:
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election or assent voting; and
- a Canadian citizen; and
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
- a resident of the Town of Qualicum Beach; and
-
not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or assent voting and not otherwise disqualified by law.
Non-Resident Property Electors:
- 18 years of age or older on general voting day for the election or assent voting; and
- a Canadian citizen; and
- a resident of British Columbia for at least 6 months immediately before the day of registration; and
- a registered owner of real property in the Town of Qualicum Beach for at least 30 days immediately before the day of registration; and
- the only persons who are registered owners of the property, either as joint tenants or tenants in common, are individuals who are not holding the property in trust for a corporation or another trust; and
- not entitled to register as a resident elector; and
-
not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in an election or assent voting and not otherwise disqualified by law; and
-
if there is more than one registered owner of the property, only one of those individuals may, with the written consent of the majority of the owners, register as a non-resident property elector.
