Today, civic participation occurs at many levels. We make impactful decisions about our community every time we make a purchase, vote, post on social media and, of course, volunteer. We think any awareness we can bring to the many resources that might spur individual action for good, falls right in line with what we’re up to at HandsOn.

Election Day Resources

Election Day is Tuesday, November 8th. Are you prepared to vote?

Verify your voter registration - you must be registered to vote prior to election day to submit a ballot
Find your polling location using the poll locator
Polling hours are 6 am- 7 pm on November 8th to vote in person.
Note: you can still vote even if polls close while you're in line. Don't get out of line if the polls close when you're waiting your turn. You can still vote. There are several laws in place to protect your rights.
Be sure to come prepared with the appropriate ID needed to vote at the polls
Schedule Time Off for Voting ahead of time with your supervisor
If you requested a mail in ballot, but missed the deadline to send back by mail you can still submit your ballot. Bring your ballot to a drop box before 7 pm on election day and your vote still counts

Everyone has the right to vote. If any one tries to stop you call the Election Protection Hotline at 1-866-687-8683

National Homeless Youth Awareness Month

In honor of November being National Homeless Youth Awareness month, we are featuring two of our partner organizations Human Services Campus and The Society of St. Vincent de Paul. These organizations provide food, clothing, shelter, and medical services to homeless individuals in the Phoenix area.

On Tuesday, October 25th HandsOn partnered with The Hope Depot Foundation to makeover the two organization's properties with over 400 volunteers. We were able to till community gardens, build picnic benches, plant flowers, put up fencing, assemble bikes, and so much more.

NEW Calendar Project

Clay Crafters at Ben's Bells

Spend your Saturday afternoon getting crafty at the Ben's Bells studio. Volunteers will create painted clay ornaments that are used to spread kindness throughout the Phoenix community!

First project: Saturday, November 12th, 1:00-3:00pm

Suitable for children 7+ years old.
