Who Will Be the Next President of Our Country?

One of the most privileged acts we do as citizens is to select who will lead our Republic. The days for deciding are dwindling. Now is the time to unite with our fellow citizens and VOTE to elect our next President.

Check out the Top 2 Factors identified by voters as influencing their decision: Illegal Immigration and the Economy. President Trump plans to tackle both. Gather facts that you can share with undecided and first-time voters and encourage them to Vote.

Ohio Ballot Issue 1: Far-Reaching and Momentous

"Ohio voters need to stop this Democrat takeover of legislative redistricting.

Vote No on Issue 1! Stop the Steal!"

Donald J Trump

Issue 1 is a Constitutional Amendment with long-term ramifications in shaping Ohio's district maps and thus impacting the results of future elections.

The Amendment fundamentally changes the method Ohio will use to draw the district map for Ohio's 15 US House of Representatives. It also impacts the district maps for selecting Ohio's 33 State Senators and 99 State Representatives. (Click blue links to see each map.)

Why is Issue 1 confusing? Each side promises that a vote for them reduces the effects of "gerrymandering." This is a term used to describe how district boundaries are drawn, potentially giving one Political Party advantage over another. Advertising, yard signs, social media and flyers demand to Vote Yes or Vote No to "Stop Gerrymandering." It is hard to sort the differences in voting Yes or No just by reading captions.

This informative 5-minute video explains the importance of a NO vote. (VIDEO)

The ultimate concern is that "gerrymandering" can give one party more delegates to the US House of Representatives and/or Ohio's Legislative Branches (Senate and House). Twice before, Ohioans turned down a change to redistricting. In this, the 3rd attempt, the stakes are high!

What does a Yes vote mean?

  • It replaces the current system led by Ohio elected officials and institutes a 15- member Commission of citizens who are not elected by the voters. The Commission's rulings cannot be challenged, even in court, nor can Commissioners be removed, except by their colleagues.
  • The new Commission requires $7 Million be added to Ohio's 2025 Budget to support its start-up. The Commission has been described as having an "unlimited budget."
  • It is "Un-Democratic" since 5 members who dissent on a vote override the majority's vote. There is also a concern about transparency since the Commission is not integrated into Ohio's governmental structure.

What does a NO vote mean?

  • District mapping remains under control of a 7-member bipartisan Commission guided by elected Ohio officials who are responsible to the citizens that they serve.
  • It prevents Special Interest groups, without direct accountability to Ohio citizens, from having excessive influence on the determination of district maps.
  • It stops substantial additional costs from being pushed into Ohio's budget that will be passed on to taxpayers to establish and maintain the new Commission.
  • It rejects having "dark money" from outside of Ohio influence how district maps are drawn.
