Election Information and
St. Johns Democratic Party Slate Card

|
Writing postcards can be very therapuetic during this time of loss and remembrance. In addition to our VOTE postcard project,
we offer an option to contact Republic Senators.
|
|
Are you interested in participating in our Post Card Project? Round one has been very successful...
more postcards arrived and many have been distributed.
|
|
1500 postcards have already walked out the door as well as many of an additional 2000 postcards. Another order has been placed. They are in bags of 26 postcards (see postcards above), with stamps and the addresses of families to send cards to one of our local precincts. The suggested donation is $10 to cover only the cost of the stamps.
|
|
Would you like to write postcards to the Senators
who would not allow Obama to appoint Merrick Garland
as a replacement to Antonin Scalia on the Supreme Court and who
wish to immediately appoint a replacement to Ruth Bader Ginsburg?
We are not offering the postcards nor the stamps, but the more variety of cards
that can be written, the better. Use your imagination and literary skills.
And the sooner that we can get started with this project, the sooner these Senators
will feel the wrath of the voters who honor and respect the Notorious RBG!
And if you can't write, then call or email our Republican Senators:

St. Johns County Seeks More Democratic Poll Watchers!
|
The St. Johns County Voter Protection Team is excited to announce that we have created a St. Johns County Poll Watcher Training Class based on our Poll Watching observations during the August Primary! We observed very aggressive Republican Poll Watchers in several of our precincts so need to get ready for more in November.
If you are interested in being trained to be a Poll Watcher during Early Voting or on Election Day - please sign up! We are going to begin offering our St. Johns County training via zoom on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings during October. This will be the only training that you need to do as our training incorporates the other training being offered by the Florida Democratic Party. The absolute deadline to sign-up for training is October 15, 2020.
The link to the Sign Up Genius for training is:
If the dates/times listed don't work - please contact the SJC Voter Protection Team at sjcvoterprotection@gmail.com and they will get something scheduled as we need everyone ready to go on November 3! Once you have signed up - you'll receive a zoom link a few days prior to your training.
Finally, if you have a Democratic friend who'd like to volunteer as a Poll Watcher, please feel free to forward this information and encourage them to return the Poll Watcher Information Sheet (linked in blue) and sign up for training. And the team will need the information sheet as well for all volunteers

Text messaging has begun and phone banks continue
|
|
So many Democrats have signed up to vote by mail — but we need your help to remind them to fill their ballots out and send it in! This is a statewide text bank that will also send Democrats voting by mail their personalized #SunshineSlate☀️ Democratic voting guides so November can bring victories up and down the entire ballot!
From September 27, we will be texting voters each day from 11 AM - 8 PM. Volunteers can join the shift and help text voters at any time — and strongly encourage that you join our daily kick-off Zoom meeting for special instructions with the FDP Training Director BEFORE you begin texting!

|
Phone calls continue for Vote by Mail
There is a script for our Incentive Grant on the Florida Democratic Party website. Your local party benefits financially if we make 1,450 calls during a month. If you click on www.floridadems.org/phone-banking/ then click on the box for St. Johns County, you will see the new script and can begin making calls. Be sure to familiarize yourself with the new script before you begin as you may wish to rephrase it in a way more natural to you
If you have not previously made calls, you may have to create an Action ID in order to participate. You can set one up yourself by following the instructions on the website. If you have a problem, don't hesitate to contact Diane Abell at: zinkadoodle@gmail.com or 904-827-3456 to walk you through the process.
And you will need to know the telephone number of the St. Johns Supervisor of Elections Office when making the calls: 904-823-2238.
Registered voters can also sign up online for vote by mail, or to view their voter information at: votesjc.com and by clicking on the My Voter Status button.
