About Stephen Ministry

TIME-SENSITIVE – please register by Nov. 6th so that we can give a head count to Davidson College!

Thank you to the 23 households that have already pledged $144,000 for our 2025 ministries! Their average pledge of over $6000 is actually the kind of stepping up we are asking members to consider for 2025 as we look to better the PC(USA) average gift per member and empower our committees to share even more of God's "Countless Gifts of Love" (see below).

We are inviting members and friends to make their pledge on or by November 10. Your pledge cards were mailed to your home but you can also pledge online here. Thank you for helping us to share God's "Countless Gifts of Love" in 2025. You can learn more about some committee dreamsfor 2025 and hear from one of our youth daylightbelow.

Countless Gifts of Love- Fall 2024 Stewardship Season

It is now our fall stewardship season, as we begin to consider our pledges for 2025. The great hymn, "Now Thank We All Our God," reminds us of God's "countless gifts of love, which still is ours today." We are asking you to consider God's innumerable gifts to you and the call of the disciple to mirror God's generosity in our own giving. The link below is to Harriet Regen's minute for mission about your giving impacts global missions.

What If? Giving to our ministries empowers hundreds of thousands of touches of love every year. When asked how our outreach might deepen and broaden if members gave more to DCPC, a few answers from our committees were as follows. (1) Make retreats and summer trips more financially feasible for all of our families. (2) Create a scholarship fund for the students who graduate from the Sigona Academy in Kenya and who cannot afford to go to the next level of schooling. (3) Regularly train more Stephen Leaders to step into roles being vacated by departing Stephen Ministers. (4) Increase the number and variety of events for families with children to connect with one another. (5) Have better technology support for our Sunday morning online activities. (6) Identify a home we could use year-round for refugee families. (6) Add staff hours for youth ministry. (7) Increase the number of offerings designed to assist with mental health care. If our members and friends “step up” their giving for 2025, perhaps some of these might become a reality! Thank you for giving to DCPC.

“Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God,

serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.”
