We are happy to announce that we have completed our Bylaws Amendments and NCAOR Election Process. The Amendments were approved by Membership, and we present to you next year's Officers, Directors and Affiliate Representative on our Board of Directors

ELECTION REPORT

Each year, the Nevada County Association of REALTORS® completes its Annual Election Process. This year’s Nominating Committee presented the slate, notifying membership of their right to place a name in nomination by petition. In the absence of additional nominations, the nominees as reported were duly elected as of Friday, July 17, 2018 at 5:01 pm.

The 2020 Board of Directors offiicially ratified the vote on Thursday, July 30, 2020.

Homeownership rates rise close to housing boom levels​​​​

The U.S. homeownership rate surged to its highest level in 12 years in the second quarter as low mortgage rates and the pandemic prompt more Americans to want to own a home, the Census Bureau reported.
While data collection methods for the most recent quarter’s report may have affected the results, the homeownership rate rose to 67.9% in the second quarter, increasing even while the nation faced record levels of unemployment. A year ago, the homeownership rate was 64.1%. Read More
Buyers looking to trade up in midst of pandemic

A wave of buyers looking to trade up and focusing on other home amenities is emerging as stay-at-home restrictions remain in place in many areas. Since the pandemic, house hunters are now focused on more space and outdoor features—and not showing any willingness to compromise on them, a Point2Homes survey found.

The top priorities for buyers now center around square footage and living space, floor design, and outdoor spaces, such as swimming pools, according to the survey. Prior to the pandemic, house hunters were focused on amenities such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood flooring, were some of the most popular search terms a year ago.
