ELECTION SEASON IS HERE,
AND THESE ARE THE DATES YOU NEED TO KNOW ...
850-329-4850

850-329-4852

General election day is November 3. While that may seem like an eternity way, election season in Florida is upon us.  The Presidential Primary election is March 17, and vote by mail has already started

Because Florida is a closed primary state, a person must be registered with a political party to vote in that party's primary. The deadline to register with a party (or change party affiliation) to vote in the Presidential Primary is February 18. Early voting generally runs from March 7 - March 14; but check with your County Supervisor of Elections because they have the option to add additional early voting days.
Here are some other important dates for candidates, consultants, and campaign staff to note:
Candidate Qualifying Periods

Monday, April 20, 2020 at Noon -
Friday, April 24, 2020 at Noon
    • U.S. Congress
    • State Attorney
    • Public Defender
    • Justice of Supreme Court
    • District Court of Appeal
    • Circuit Court Judge
Monday, June 8, 2020 at Noon -
Friday, June 12, 2020 at Noon

There are a number of requirements for qualifying. Failure to satisfy any one of them could doom a candidacy before it begins. Don't wait until the last minute to get your paperwork ready and triple-checked before filing. Current officeholders need to be aware of the resign to run requirements.
