A total of 365 regular abstract submissions are now being reviewed.

A first glance at the accepted symposia and pre-conference workshops

The ISBNPA community prepared seven excellent pre-conference workshops. Make sure you attend these learning experiences.

Workshops
  • Network of Early Career Researchers and Students of ISBNPA (NESI) workshop
  • Natural experiments for physical activity research: creating competitive study designs to better evaluate environmental changes
  • Using Directed Acyclic Graphs to guide your research: an introduction, exercises and interactive discussions
  • Approaching Nutrition and Physical Activity Research from an Antiracist Research Lens
  • Evaluating implementation of public policy for the promotion of physical activity and healthy nutrition: Why, how and what should this involve.
  • Capacity Building Network workshop: Heterogeneity and variability: the devil or the holy grail in longitudinal data analysis of physical activity and behavioral nutrition data?
  • Cultivating equitable partnerships in behavioural nutrition and physical activity research

Symposia
The reviewers selected 30 symposia for the ISBNPA 2022 annual meeting. We will be releasing some titles of these sessions during the upcoming months.
Here is a sample of the symposia that you will attend in May, 2022.
  • "Choosing All Together"; Community priorities for nutrition interventions in Sub Saharan Africa
  • Citizen science to advance behavioral change science: empowering adolescents to create change
  • Addressing lifestyle patterns and health in early life: from observation to intervention
ISBNPA Elections
We had the closest election we ever witnessed, with 177 votes and very close voting for each one of the positions.
We want to thank all the nominees for their willingness to stand for the election.

In addition to these positions, Delfien Van Dyck will be the next ISBNPA Secretary, and Meg Bruening will have another term as treasurer.

ISBNPA Membership
Supporting the ISBNPA community
ISBNPA supports several initiatives for the betterment of behavioral nutrition and physical activity science.
We are preparing our website to help you participate more directly in these initiatives' selection and funding. A sort of crowdfunding program to the initiatives that you believe the most. We plan to call it Researcher -> Researcher (R->R) funding (ideas for names are welcomed :-)).

Open call for IJBNPA Editor-in-chief
We seek an Editor-in-Chief for IJBNPA to handle new submissions and continue enhancing the journal’s quality and reputation.
IJBNPA is currently a Q1 and 6.457 Impact factor publication.

The expression for interest is open until December 31st, 2021. This position will run from June 2022 till May 2024.
