Dear 6th, 7th and 8th Grade Parents, Guardians, and Students,
The 2023-2024 school year is quickly approaching. It is time to select your elective(s) for the upcoming school year. There are currently 12 electives to choose from. Due to staff changes, electives may vary yearly. Please see the list below and study the course descriptions.
-
Each student is required to take at least one elective course during the elective period. This year it is before lunch. Students who choose only one elective will have study hall on the other days.
- There are some electives that meet every day, in that case you will choose only one elective.
- Most of the electives meet for two days, either Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, so you will be able to choose 2 electives.
- There are electives that have limited space available, require an application or an interview with the instructor. If you are interested in any of these electives, please check that you are interested and then select a second elective in case the one you choose is full.
Once you have reviewed the electives descriptions, please go to the link to provide us with your elective selection
Remember: Select up to two choices only! (unless directed otherwise by the specific elective). If you have been selected for an audition or selection group, select that elective as one of your two choices.
Only Concert Band, Orchestra, and Choir have no class size restrictions. Students requesting any of the other electives may be on a waiting list.
