Controlling Worker Exposures to Nanomaterials: NIOSH Issues New Research-Based Recommendations
The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) issued new recommendations on Nov. 8 for controlling worker exposures to engineered nanomaterials during the manufacture and industrial use of those materials.

Improve Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses Rulemaking The Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced that it will extend the comment period to March 8, 2014 on the proposed rule to improve workplace safety and health through improved tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses. OSHA is proposing to amend its recordkeeping regulations to add requirements for the electronic submission of injury and illness information employers are already required to keep under Part 1904. The proposed rule amends 29 CFR 1904.41 to add three new electronic reporting requirements.

OSHA reminds employers to post injury and illness summaries
OSHA is reminding employers to post OSHA Form 300A, which lists a summary of the total number of job-related injuries and illnesses that occurred during 2013. The form must be posted between Feb. 1 and April 30, 2014. Please click below to access forms.
