School Prayer and Pledge
Oh God, creator of the universe, you hold each of us in the palm of your hand. Extend to each member of the Villa community an awareness of your presence, your healing and your peace. Help us to love and respect one another, to develop our gifts to the best of our abilities, and to use those gifts in the service of others. Help us work together to grow into mature Christian people. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your Son and our brother. Amen.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

The Benedictine value that we are focusing on this month is the value of Stewardship. To be a steward implies that one treats all of God’s gifts with reverence. This includes all created things. We should develop and use the gifts God has given to each of us and treat all things with reverence and care. That is a big order – especially in today’s throw-away society! Since we celebrated Earth Day last week, let us remember that it is our job to take care of the Earth by being stewards of the natural environment and helping to care for trees, plants, grassy places and gardens; removing litter and protecting our beautiful campus here at school and in your own neighborhood; recycling paper, plastic, aluminum and glass; conserving the amount of water that you use when brushing your teeth, taking a shower/bath; and remembering to conserve energy by turning off lights and electronics when not in use.

We are thrilled to be hosting our annual Grandparent’s Day this Friday, April 29 for grades K-3. e will begin with a prayer and performance in the theatre at 1:30 p.m. and then guests will visit homerooms. Check-in will begin at 1:15 p.m. in the foyer by the main office.
Students are asked to wear their class tshirt (K=red, 1=orange, 2=yellow, 3=green) with their uniform bottom. These are the shirts that were handed out at the beginning of the school year. If you have any questions, please contact your child's homeroom teacher.

Gallery Night, our annual showcase of the artistic, musical, and dancing talents of our students will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. We look forward to celebrating our students at this special event.

Next week our students in grades 3 - 6 will take the ACT Aspire tests. Students will take one of these tests a day (English, Reading, Math and Science). The ACT Aspire measure each child’s growth as well as serve as a standard of measure to help us continue to evaluate our curriculum and progress. These tests are just one of the many tools we use to assess the skills and abilities of our students.
