School Prayer
Oh God, creator of the universe, You hold each of us in the palm of Your hand. Extend to each member of the Villa community an awareness of your presence, your healing, and your peace. Help us to love and respect one another, to develop our gifts to the best of our abilities, and to use those gifts in the service of others. Help us work together to grow into mature Christian people. We ask this in the name of Jesus, Your son, and our brother. Amen.

Pledge of Allegiance
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
Dear Students,

I am excited to announce our September "Students of the Month" from grades four through six. In order to recognize and celebrate the many skills, gifts, talents, and efforts of our students, each month teachers nominate students that best exemplify the qualities of one or more of the Benedictine values. All nominees have their group photo taken and displayed in the main school hallway. Additionally, all nominees are gifted with a small bag of goodies, including a prayer card, a ribbon and a certificate. Our schedule for recognition this year will be:
  • September - Stewardship (grades 4-6)
  • October - Stewardship (grades K-3)
  • November - Scholarship (4-6)
  • December - Scholarship (K-3)
  • January - Peace & Hospitality (4-6)
  • February - Peace & Hospitality ( K-3)
  • March - Reverence & Respect (4-6)
  • April - Reverence & Respect (K-3).
Please join me in congratulating our Students of the Month!

When someone in our community is in need, we offer our support by praying for them and helping in any way that we can. Thank you for your prayers and support of the Stricker family as they experienced the tragic loss of their home. All donations and cards that were brought in last week were delivered. The family is extremely grateful for your support. Please continue to keep the family in your prayers.

Sometimes what we say and what we do are very different. Jesus makes a point about those who promised to follow their word but didn't, and those that do. If our initial response to something is not following God's will, we can change our minds and turn back to God. There is humility in changing one's mind, and in returning to God. Think about a time when you said something or did something that you didn't mean. How did you feel when you acknowledged that you spoke too quickly or too harshly? What did you do to turn back to Jesus? Jesus reminds us that it is never too late to return to God. A few years ago, there was a popular phrase that people posted all over: "What would Jesus do?" Before you do something or say something, think about this phrase and ask yourself....WWJD?

God's Peace,
Mrs. Bosley
