HELLO!

A NOTE FROM Miss Kempton

Thank you for supporting our Fun Run fundraiser! We are grateful for the encouragement you have given our students. You are welcome to join us at the track next Thursday, October 1, to cheer them on.

Students are scheduled to arrive at the track at these times. Classes will leave their classrooms a little earlier:

Preschool and TK: 8:15 a.m.
Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades: 9:00 a.m.
3rd, 4th, and 5th grades: 10:00 a.m.

Students will receive their Fun Run T-shirts that morning and may slip them on over what they wear to school. Please send your child with a labeled water bottle and comfortable running shoes and clothes that follow VCS free dress guidelines. Refill water will be available at the track. Please remember that short shorts and spandex shorts are not permitted.

We look forward to a fun morning together!

GATE Teacher Needed

VCS is seeking an enthusiastic teacher to lead our after-school GATE program for students in grades 3–5. The program will meet three days a week from October through April. Curriculum and a stipend will be provided.

We are looking for someone who has experience working with students, enjoys teaching, and is excited to engage curious learners through active, meaningful learning experiences.

Extended Care Worker

We are currently hiring for an Elementary Extended Care position for the 2026–2027 school year.

This is a 10-month, school-year-only position.

Carpool

Please arrive after 3:00 pm, when MS dismissal is nearly complete. Arriving before 3:00 pm creates gridlock for MS traffic exiting campus. You may be asked to leave and return at the approved time if you are blocking traffic from exiting campus.

After-School Play

To help keep all students safe after school, we ask that parents who are supervising their children on the playground continue to follow the same rules and expectations that are in place during the school day. Once students are under parent supervision, parents are responsible for actively watching their children and ensuring that they follow playground expectations. Our Extended Care staff are present but only supervising and supporting those students in the program. They cannot be responsible for controlling or disciplining students who are under their parents’ supervision. Consistency between the school day and after-school hours helps provide a safe and positive environment for everyone.

Extended Care registration is required each school year.

The 2026–2027 Google Form is now closed. If you did not register your child this year, and would like to enroll for the first time, or need to change between Full-Time and Hourly/Drop-In, please visit the Elementary School Office to complete an Extended Care Maintenance Form.
