November Character Trait

To recognize the suffering of others, then take action to help.  That human disposition that fuels Acts of Kindness and mercy.  Compassion, a form of love, is aroused within us when we are confronted with those who suffer or are vulnerable.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."  Proverbs 31:8-9

Dear Parents,

Our Canned Food Drive has been a huge success!  Thank you to all who participated, whether donating of money, goods or time.  Our PTF Team, headed by Edna Mendoza, was amazing!  Their energy and positive attitude was a joy to encounter each morning.  God bless you for your efforts to bless the less fortunate of our Community.  This project is certainly in keeping with our current month's character quality of compassion.

Below you will see pictures from our recent Beautify VCS Day on November 2nd.  Our wonderful volunteer parents did a phenomenal job of preparing our old bookkeeping office to be our new MakerSpace!  Article in this edition!

I pray that over your long weekend, you take a minute to remember our Veterans.  Our country would not enjoy the freedoms that we have without the sacrifices made by our current and past veterans.

May God Bless America!

Beautify VCS Work Day 2019

Veteran's Day

In observance of  Veteran's Day our campus will be closed

Monday, November 11th.
MakerSpace Opening Soon!

We are projecting the opening of Phase I of our MakerSpace to be the end of January 2020! What exactly is a MakerSpace, you say?

A MakerSpace is an area of the classroom or common media space that is reserved for creative exploration, engineering, tinkering, inventing and purposeful play.  In a MakerSpace children have opportunities to discover, assemble, problem solve, construct, test, and explore using divergent, "outside the box" thinking.  A MakerSpace should inspire new passions for students and cater to their unique multiple intelligences.

We have already utilized this space to introduce our teachers to their first MakerSpace experience!  Can I say...excitement abounds among our staff.

We are so looking forward to introducing our students to this cool, new learning space!

Look for ways you can help in the upcoming E-Bulletins!  We'll be in touch!

Box Tops

Participating brands are beginning to change their packaging from a traditional Box Tops clip to the new Box Tops Label.

Eventually, the Box Tops program will become digital-only, so  i f you see this new label, use the new Box Tops app to scan your receipt.  Box Tops are still worth 10 cents each for your school.  The app will automatically find participating products purchased at any store and instantly add cash to your schools earnings online.

Traditional Box Tops are being phased out of production, but may continue to be found on many products still in store.  You may still clip them and send them in!

We have included a link below to a "how to" video!

  • Speed limit is 5 miles per hour
  • Please allow 30 feet distance between your car and all crosswalks on property when in use
  • Obey all traffic signs
  • Watch for VCS staff directing traffic
  • Refrain from using cell phones or playing loud music
  • Please do not leave your car unattended in carpool
  • NO PARKING in the carpool lanes
  • Refrain from parking in front of the Head of School office area in the mornings.  This is for Early Education Only in the A.M.
  • Please do not drop Elementary Students off in front of the Head of School office unless special arrangements have been made with the Principal.  You may park in the parking lot and walk them in.
Student Safety is # 1

When participating in carpool for drop off or pick up, please remember to be patient as you proceed.  Cutting in and out of the line increases the possibility of accidents.

Please thank and support each carpool worker who, rain or shine, works the traffic on campus.  Your support is so needed, and maybe a Starbucks when it is raining!
