Greetings Fairchild Challenge Educators!

We hope all is well with you as you get back into the swing of the new school year.

Some quick reminders:

Entries for Challenge 2: Growing Up are due the week of November 28th-December 4^th. Please fill out the appropriate entry form to accompany your entries.

Entries for National Challenge: Mission Patch are due from November 28^th -December 4^th. Please complete the entry form to submit your entries!

Our Shade Our Schools workshop is coming up on December 3rd, 2022. Registration is now open and will close on November 30th. This workshop is mandatory for any teachers who want to take part in Challenge 3: Shade Our Schools. Register now!

Register now for our upcoming Teacher workshop, Research in the Classroom. This workshop will be taking place on November 8^th from 8:30am-2:30pm at Miami Senior High School. Register now through Frontline.

GENERAL TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Research in the Classroom

November 8, 2022 - 8:30 am - 2:30 pm

at Miami Senior High School

How do we turn casual observations into a well-designed research project? Using MDCPS pacing guides, we will learn how to think about real-world problems and develop and test hypotheses from our questions. Important aspects of this process that we will explore: How to navigate literature searches; How to develop experimental design; How to showcase our students’ work at conferences and science fairs, in journals, and source funding for these opportunities.
