Greetings Fairchild Challenge Educators!

We hope all is well with you as you get back into the swing of the new school year.

Some quick reminders:

Entries for Challenge 1: Pollinator Penthouse are due the week of October 3^rd-9^th. Please fill out the appropriate entry form to accompany your entries.

Garden Grant applications are due on October 21^st. Please make sure to review the application questions carefully. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Register now for our upcoming Teacher workshop, Research in the Classroom. This workshop will be taking place on November 8^th from 8:30am-2:30pm at Miami Senior High School. Register now through Frontline.

Research in the Classroom

How do we turn casual observations into a well-designed research project? Using MDCPS pacing guides, we will learn how to think about real-world problems and develop and test hypotheses from our questions. Important aspects of this process that we will explore: How to navigate literature searches; How to develop experimental design; How to showcase our students’ work at conferences and science fairs, in journals, and source funding for these opportunities.
