Spring has sprung and lighter days are ahead. With Easter just around the corner, we are especially thankful for the risen Christ and the freedom that comes through knowing Him personally. May we reflect Him in all that we do this month and in the months to come. Read about what’s on the agenda this April in this edition of our newsletter.

ELEVATE WORK'S APRIL COMMENCEMENT

In March we celebrated the graduation of six students from the Elevate Work program. This month, on April 6th, we will commemorate another class of students for successfully completing the program. Join us at 7:00 P.M. in the Elevate Branson Auditorium for another fun night of celebration and community. We’re proud of all of our graduates, and hope that you’ll join us in congratulating them on their accomplishment.

EFFECTIVE CHARITY

WITH JAMES WHITFORD AND NATHAN MAYO

Also on April 6th, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., join us for an event featuring True Charity Initiative’s Nathan Mayo and James Whitford, as they share the foundational principles of effective charity and practical approaches used to equip those addressing poverty head-on. Admission is $10 and lunch will be provided. This is a rescheduled event from February, and all those registered for the original event will remain registered for the April 6th date.

CONTINUING EDUCATION WITH ELEVATE KIDS

Elevate Kids are enjoying this spring weather with trips to the park and other outdoor activities. Kiddos are focused this month on continuing to learn social skills and the importance of always using kind words, on top of furthering their knowledge in the subjects they’re needing additional assistance with in school. On April 5th, Branson High School French class students are planning activities and teaching French basics to our afterschool program kids, and they can’t hardly wait! We’re excited for all April has in store for our favorite youngsters. 

BALLPARKS OF AMERICA CHARITY CLASSIC

Baseball season is among us! Ballparks of America is hosting a baseball tournament and Easter egg hunt April 15th and 16th, with gate fees and 10% of their store and concessions sales benefiting Elevate Branson! Join us in the stands on April 15th and 16th for a grand-slam weekend at the ball park. 

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: WHITNEY McDERMOTT

“My favorite part about volunteering is getting to know each and every person’s story. A lot of times you only see a person for their outward appearances – for what they’re doing, or not doing. But when you actually get to take the time to sit down and hear their story, hear where they come from and what they’ve walked through, it gives you the insight and compassion to walk this journey along with them.” 

We are thankful for Whitney’s commitment to her Elevate Work student as a mentor! Mentors play a crucial role in helping our students achieve their accomplishments and reach milestones throughout the Elevate Work course and beyond. It’s with the help of volunteers like Whitney that we see our neighbors reach new heights each and every day.
