May Member Spotlight: Dr. Martin Molina

"As a first-generation physician of Puerto Rican and Honduran descent, serving patients in Polk County has been one of my greatest privileges. Growing up surrounded by

family members dedicated to public service, I learned early that meaningful work is about improving the lives of others and strengthening your community. Today, I have the opportunity to do that every day while training and caring for patients in the largest-

growing county in Florida."

Grant Funds Available for RHTP

In the notebook is the text rural health_ next to a stethoscope_ pills and glasses.

The Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) is a federally funded initiative administered by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that provides

substantial, multiyear funding directly to states. Florida has received RHTP funding and is administering the program through the Florida Agency for Healthcare Administration (AHCA), which is responsible for developing priorities and distributing funds to local partners.  Florida received over $209 million through the RHTP to improve healthcare infrastructure, technology, and workforce development across 31 rural counties.

The AAFP developed an informational overview to help family physician practices and entities determine eligibility and funding opportunities. CLICK HERE to read more about this program.
