Visitors Encouraged to Postpone Trips Until After
Fire Incident Has Passed
The Radford Fire is burning in the forest area south of the Big Bear Valley. We are experiencing poor air quality and a heavy response of emergency services. In an effort to promote an efficient emergency response and public health, we are attempting to minimize the population of the Big Bear Valley. As such, visitors are encouraged to postpone trips to the Big Bear Valley until after the fire incident has passed. Access to and from the Big Bear Valley is currently limited by the closure of Highway 38 and evacuations are in effect for portions of the Big Bear Valley. Limiting visitation will enable resources to move more efficiently throughout the valley and reduce ancillary calls for service.
Thank you for your consideration as we work to protect our community.
