Welcome back Elite Families!  We had a fabulous first week at Elite. The energy and excitement that surrounds the studio is contagious!  The staff and dancers have been enjoying getting to know each other  and we are all getting into the "groove" of our new schedule.

Meet our new Hip Hop Teacher!

Veronica Mercado is a dancer based out of the Northwest. She began at the age 13 on her high school dance team then transitioned to a local studio which ended up being the place she also began teaching. Now she spends her time in the Portland dance scene immersing herself in various groups from companies to street styles. Veronica dances with Lyfe under direction of Durante Lambert, was on Freshvibe with Allison Franco, and is also part of a popping crew called Strange Nation. She trains in hip hop, popping, litefeet, house, contemporary and more! She loves to share her knowledge and has taught all ages and levels. "I am so excited to become a part of the Elite team and to merge street with studio life. I am looking forward to seeing the growth of the kids and to progress with them. I'm super grateful for this opportunity and can't wait to get started!"

We are excited to have her join our Elite Family.

Time to Review!

During the month of September, you may notice that teachers are spending a majority of the class time reviewing proper stretching, body alignment and basic technique.  In order to ensure proper class placements, teachers need to establish a base level for each class. Once they have a good understanding of the class level and chemistry, the teacher will design that classes curriculum and plan for the year.  We ask that our Elite families be patient and that our dancers enjoy these few weeks of review.  We expect classes to kick into high gear in early October and all our dancers will be inspired, motivated and challenged.

We encourage dancers and families to speak with the teachers or email me if you have any questions or concerns. We are honored to teach each and every dancer we have at Elite and we want them all to LOVE dance as much as we do!

New Class Added!

If you have a dancer in an 8-10 yr old or 9-11 yr old tap class, you may have noticed the large class sizes.  Due to the popularity of these classes, we have opened another  CLASS- Monday 3:30-4:15 9-11 TAP w/Shelly.

Our hope is that by adding an additional class option we will be able to spread out the students and make for a more personal learning environment. If you are interested in moving to the new Monday 3:30 class, please email us at  info@elitedancestudio.org.  Thank you for your understanding.

Need a Schedule Change?

We appreciate all the patience and communication as families finalize their schedules.  We understand Fall is a very hectic time.

Halloween:

PumpkinEvery year we receive questions about Halloween. We understand that it falls on a Thursday this year. We would like for our Elite dancers and families to enjoy their Halloween traditions uninterrupted by their dance commitments. We are happy to accommodate these requests so the studio will be closed Thursday October 31st. We wish you all a safe and fun Halloween.
