Eating for Eye Health:
Summertime brings an abundance of in-season fruits and vegetables. Whether you grow them at home, purchase them at a local farmers’ market or grocery store, or both, eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help support your overall health.
Choosing foods with vitamins, antioxidants, and minerals can also support your eye health.
Summertime Produce to Watch: Produce that contains eye-friendly nutrients, like lutein, vitamin C, and more, are essential to helping your eyes work their best. Plus, they can help reduce your risk of developing certain eye diseases, like age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.

This year, America celebrates an extraordinary milestone of 250 years of independence. For two and a half centuries, our nation has been built on planning for the future and creating opportunities for generations to come. Milestones like this remind us that while history is worth celebrating, it's also the perfect time to look ahead at the future. Just as our country has evolved over the years, your life has most likely changed too. Marriage, children, a new home, career growth, retirement planning, or welcoming grandchildren are all moments that can impact your financial and health needs. As you reflect on this changes it’s a great time to ask:
Is Your Life Insurance Keeping Pace?
Life insurance isn't something you buy once and forget. As life changes, your coverage should too.
- Has your family grown?
- Have your financial responsibilities changed?
- Have you paid off a mortgage or taken on new debt?
- Would your loved ones be financially secure if something happened to you?
A quick policy review can help ensure your coverage still reflects your current goals and provides the protection your family deserves.
| | Guard Against Medicare Marketing Scams | | |
As each day passes, there seem to be more scams to be watchful for and Elite Insurance strives to keep you up to date so you are not caught off guard. Unfortunately, many of these scams target seniors and seem very enticing.
We’ve had numerous calls to our office from concerned clients over the last several weeks regarding outside sources posing as United Healthcare, Aetna, and other reputable companies. These callers are offering free groceries and rebates for Medicare beneficiaries. However, most of these callers ask you to provide your name, verify your Medicare ID, or share other personal information.
Key Tips to Protect Your Identity and Coverage
-
Never share info. Do not give your Medicare ID, social security number, or personal details to unverified callers.
-
Verify with carriers. Contact your specific agent, Medicare Advantage carrier, or Supplement carrier directly to check benefit eligibility.
-
Understand plan limits. Most extra grocery and rebate benefits are strictly limited to specific plans.
-
Check eligibility rules. Extra benefits usually require enrollment in dual Medicare/Medicaid plans, chronic condition plans, or specific geographic regions.
-
Know enrollment dates. You cannot change plans outside the standard Open Enrollment period (October 15 – December 7) unless you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period.
We hope our tips can save you from unnecessary stress and the headaches of having plan changes made without your consent. Please reach out to our office if you have any questions or are concerned about your coverage options.
