The saying goes “March is in like a lion and out like a lamb”. These days I think our Chamber community continues to be lions!
When you think of March what do you think of? We think of St. Patrick’s Day Bowling! This event is all about fun and friendly competition. St. Patrick’s Day Bowling is March 16th and we have just a few spots left so call us today to reserve your lane!
We are very excited to say we have scheduled our events for this year, and they are awesome! The calendar of events will be coming your way in the next week so watch for the announcement!
The Coast Guard Marathon is this weekend! If you have not signed up to volunteer, please do it right now! Such a massive event requires a lot of manpower, and we want these runners to feel the hospitality of our city.
My word for March is LUCKY! Every single day the Chamber has meaningful conversations with our members. We are LUCKY to meet new businesses and learn about them. We are LUCKY to have your support that enables us to promote and provide services to our Chamber community. For the Chamber team personally, we feel LUCKY to know you and be able to tell your stories and support your goals. Thank you for allowing the Chamber to be a partner in your business! We will be talking!
Serving You,
Anya Davis

When I tell people that I’m a photographer, the first thing they usually ask me is “what kind of photography do you do?”
I’m a portrait photographer, and this means I actually know how to photograph people and make them look good.
I created my business to serve people who think they are not photogenic, people who feel like they never look good in photos.
Every person would love to have a beautiful portrait of themselves, and my mission is to create an environment where you feel safe, welcome, celebrated and excited to have the best portrait experience of your life.
Because you deserve to have beautiful of yourself that you love.
My name is Adaeze (ah-day-zay), and I’d love to photograph you. Call me anytime 602-759-0452
My portrait studio is located in our beautiful downtown Elizabeth City, on 606 E Main Street, on the corner of Main Street and Poindexter; we share the same building as Harbor Pharmacy.

Elizabeth City Habitat for Humanity
|
|
Everyone has heard that building costs are increasing. This is certainly having an impact on Elizabeth City Habitat for Humanity because we are a small affiliate. We service our loans and have to have money for construction before we break ground. Homeowners have a zero-interest loan. Their monthly payment consists of their principal, taxes and insurance.
Our primary sources of funding for construction are the principal on our homeowner payments and profits from our sale store. We generally are able to add about $12,000-15,000 annually to our building fund through the homeowner payments and a small amount from the store after our other operating expenses (salaries, utilities, rent, insurance) are paid.
Other revenue sources are donations from local individuals and businesses, donations of vehicles through the Cars for Homes program and grants. This year we have received more than $3000 in donations and recently received a generous grant from the Albemarle Community Trust to purchase AEDs for our store and building sites.
To increase our building fund, we have established memberships and are encouraging people who want to support us by becoming members.
Levels of memberships are:
Individual-$25
Family-$30
Businesses and organizations-$100
Bronze level-$500-999
Steel level-$1000-2499
Golden level-$2500-3999
Titanium level-$4000+
No charge for teacher and student memberships.
If you are interested in becoming a member at any level, contact Norma James at Taylor Mueller Realty, 440 S. Hughes Blvd., 252-331-2233 for information.

It’s Girl Scout Cookie season! All your favorites are back – Thin Mints, Samoas, and Tagalongs. New this year to the lineup, Adventurfuls! A brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.
With every cookie purchase, you’re supporting Girl Scouts’ ability to learn, grow, and thrive through all of life’s adventures. Plus, all proceeds stay local to help fund life-changing, girl-led programs, experiences, and learning all year long in your area.
When you buy the delicious cookies you crave directly from a Girl Scout, you’ll enjoy them more knowing you’re helping her gain the business smarts and confidence to take on the world, one cookie at a time.
Enjoy Girl Scout Cookies yourself, give some to a friend, or donate to a worthy cause—every bite counts! Thank you for supporting Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast ( GSCCC), a council serving girls in southeastern Virginia and northeastern North Carolina.
Buy online with the Digital Cookie® platform. Buy cookies from a Girl Scout you know using the Digital Cookie platform. Email GSCCC’s customercare@gsccc.org if you don't know a local Girl Scout to place your order.

Collagen is the most abundant, naturally occurring protein found in the human body and is the building block for your cells, tissues, and organs, making it essential for healthy bones, joints, skin, hair, and nails.
As we age, our natural collagen production begins to slow down (it begins in your 20s), which can lead to common signs of aging such as stiff joints, sagging skin, brittle nails, lackluster hair and wrinkles.
Shaklee's Collagen-9 product will be available on August 2nd.
Some details about the product:
- 10g Collagen per serving.
- Uniquely designed to include all 9 essential amino acids needed to support protein synthesis, including collagen.
- 100% DV of Biotin to support healthy hair, skin, and nails.*
- 100% DV of Vitamin C to protect our bodies against damage caused by free radicals and helps in collagen synthesis.*
- 100% Hydrolyzed Collagen for quicker digestion and absorption.*
What can you say about Collagen-9:
- Unflavored and easy to mix in your favorite drink.
- Non-GMO, grass-fed, pastured raised and gluten-free.
- No artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives added.
