Batiks in the Foyer Gallery
Showing in the Foyer Gallery this June 5 thru June 24, Judy Thompson-Ng's. JUDY'S BATIK . Judy is a self-taught oil and watercolor artist from New York. Her unique style of watercolor batik painting illustrates the technique of using rice paper and a hot wax application for masking and texture.
After moving to California in 2017, She found a new art community at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center. She worked with the Center in support of the Elk Grove community art programs as the Workshop Chair and teach watercolor batiking. Her pallet and paper may change again but her love for art and desire to encourage others to explore their inner art will remain true to this day.
Judy’s unique style of watercolor batik painting illustrates the technique of watercolor painting on rice paper using a hot wax application for masking and texture. As she moved from state-to-state capturing their signature characteristic, her pallet colors changed. She conducts Watercolor Batik workshops at the Elk Grove Fine Arts Center and works from her home studio.
