Faculty and staff in higher education should purposefully attend to self care needs, even if only for a short time each day. Learning about and implementing self-care should not be overwhelming and not just another item on a to do list. During this busy time in the semester, faculty and staff are invited to learn more about manageable self-care practices to fill their cup in order to best give to their priorities and other responsibilities. Discussion and collaboration are highly encouraged for sharing of best practices.

Our guest speaker will be Pueblo native Dr. Patty Erjavec. She has served as president of Pueblo Community College since June 1, 2010. She oversees PCC’s main campus in Pueblo as well as its Fremont Campus in Cañon City and its Southwest campuses/sites in Mancos/Cortez, Durango and Bayfield. She is the school’s first female president.

Come join us for a book signing event with Dr. Priscilla Falcon. Dr. Priscilla Falcon, professor emeritus of the University of Northern Colorado, has published a book, "Strike: National Florist workers vs Kitayama," published by Vanishing Horizons, the story of Guadalupe “Lupe" Briseno, who in 1968-69, with other women led a strike against the Brighton-based carnation greenhouse for better wages and working conditions. Dr. Falcon has interviewed Guadalupe about this strike who was supported by the University of Colorado and Iliff School of Theology students and multiple religious and human rights organizations.

NEW: Classified Open Enrollment

The State of Colorado’s FY 2024-25 OE begins on April 9 and ends on April 29, 2024, at 10:59 p.m. MT. This year, OE is passive, meaning if employees don't make changes to their benefits, their current benefits elections will roll into the next plan year, except for FSAs which require a new election each year. 

ALL employees should verify their benefits in benefitsolver (our access code is “soc”). The selections in benefitsolver will remain the employee’s benefits elections for the upcoming year. Changes are only allowed in limited circumstances after open enrollment is complete. Please contact Loretta McDaniel in Human Resources with any questions.

- Faculty/Staff/Non-Resident Students: Drop off donations at the residence halls May 17th 11am-1pm and 4pm-6pm and May 18th 10am-1pm

- Residents in Halls: Donate at the collection bins in the main lobbies during checkout week.

- Residents in Apartments: Donate at the halls or get a donation pass from your Area Coordinator for larger items to get permission to leave it behind.

REMINDER: Changes to the Aladdin Catering Billing Process

This notice is a reminder regarding catering invoice billing and CaterTrax. A change was implemented to the Aladdin Catering Billing Process, these changes went into effect January 2nd, 2024.

Please review the following:



Payment Methods:

All catering bookings will be processed using a P-Card, replacing the use of an index code/account number.

If Order Exceeds P-Card Limit:

If the catering expense is expected to exceed the P-Card limit of $3,000, you will need to initiate a purchase order in the KFS system. This should be completed at minimum 10 days prior to the event. A purchase order number should be sent to Jerry Carter with Aladdin.

If Your Department Does Not Have a P-Card:

You will need to work with Cabinet-level supervisory authorities to utilize division or other department cards.

Authorized Business Function Forms (ABFFs):

To ensure seamless service, all ABFFs must be submitted at minimum, 10 days prior to the event. Please note that Aladdin has been instructed not to service any catering without the submission of this form or a P-card on file.

Payment Confirmation:

For transactions processed through the P-Card, you will receive a "Paid" invoice upon the completion of your event. This invoice will serve as your official receipt for the transaction.

It is important to note that all content that is submitted to this form MUST be in landscape orientation and not portrait, and that the resolution must be at least 1920x1080 pixels to be approved.

New Class on Race & Ethnic Politics in America!

On behalf of the Political Science Program

An exiting new class option comes to CSUP this Fall!  

What does it mean to be Black, Hispanic, White, or Asian? How do we measure race? What makes these labels politically relevant? In this class we will examine the historical development of America’s racial order, how racial labels spur political mobilization in minority communities, & whether we live in a post-racial America today.

The class meets face-to-face on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in Fall 2024, 3:00-4:50pm. This course counts for General Education credit. Course numbers -- Political Science 106 & Social Work 491.
