Honoring the Life and Contributions of Dr. Fred Stultz, Retired Psychology Professor

The CSU Pueblo community is deeply saddened by the loss of Dr. Fred Stultz, retired adjunct professor in the Department of Psychology, who passed away on Wednesday morning. Dr. Stultz's legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched during his tenure at CSU Pueblo and beyond.

Dr. Stultz joined the CSU Pueblo family as the head of the student counseling center, where he later became the director in 2002. His influence was profoundly felt in counseling services and throughout the Psychology department. Dr. Kristyn White Davis, Vice President of Enrollment Management and Extended Studies, remarked, "He was a long-standing educator and loved by many in the Psychology department and across campus."

A licensed marriage and family therapist in Colorado since 2000, Dr. Stultz brought over 35 years of teaching experience to CSU Pueblo. He earned his Ph.D. in human development from Purdue University in 1974 and had been an integral part of the university's psychology department for the past 13 years.

NEW: Brown Bag Luncheon - Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs)

On behalf of the Center for Integrated Health and Human Inquiry

On September 16th from 12pm-1pm, the Center for Integrated Health and Human Inquiry (CIHHI) will host a lunch to discuss Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their impact on students, faculty, community and the college at large. The session will be held in the Technology Building, Room 201.

During this session, leaders will discuss ACEs, or Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). ACEs are potentially traumatic events that occur in childhood. Toxic stress from ACEs can change brain development and affect how the body responds to stress. Having knowledge about ACEs allows faculty to understand the impact on students and how to to tailor coursework, build relationships and strengthen teaching. Faculty will also acknowledge their unique backgrounds and what they bring to the ACEs conversation through self reflection. Engagement, small group discussion and a workshop style will be applied to this conversation.

Seating is limited. Please use the form below let us know if you will be attending so that we can ensure there is enough of both. Feel free to bring your lunch.

If you have questions, you may reach out to Emily Mulvihill, CIHHI Director, at Emily.mulvihill@csupueblo.edu

We look forward to having you join us!
