CSU Pueblo Launches McNair Scholars Program with $1.25 Million Federal Grant


PUEBLO, CO – Colorado State University Pueblo (CSU Pueblo) is proud to announce the launch of its new Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program, funded by a five-year, $1.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. This prestigious TRIO program aims to prepare talented undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds for doctoral studies through involvement in research and scholarly activities.


The McNair Scholars Program at CSU Pueblo will support 25 students annually, benefiting over 100 students throughout the grant period. The program, which received initial funding in December 2023, has been renewed for its second year starting October 2024.

By attending our Orientation, you will get to meet some classmates and experience all that CSU Pueblo has to offer by attending various sessions that will set you up for success during your exciting new journey here at CSU Pueblo.

Our Orientation programs will provide the same curriculum to new and incoming students. Please choose the day that works best for you! 


Registration Instructions:

- You MUST create an account before you start your reservation using your CSU PUEBLO email.

- You and your Parent, Family Members or Guests MUST CREATE SEPARATE ACCOUNTS and complete each reservation separately. Questions about this? Call (719) 549-2151.

- After you create your account you will be able to reserve your ticket for the orientation program.

- When reserving your ticket be sure to fill out all the information on the right hand side of the screen. This step is very important as it will decide what orientation group you are in based off the information that you provide.

- After reserving your ticket be sure to send your ticket to your email or phone number. You may also print out your tickets at home using the "Print PDF Tickets" option.

NEW: PSYC 486 Botanicals for Mental Health

Join us this fall as we explore more than 70 botanicals and mushrooms, and their benefits for mental health! Curious about turmeric? Interested in trying some lavender cookies? Wondering why all the rage over reishi? We’ll be covering that! Students will research history, folklore, and geography, the instructor will bring the science, and we’ll merge them together in class. This class will also have a hands-on component, as we learn how to make tea blends, salves, syrups, and extracts. (I’m really excited about the hydrosol!) No prerequisites, this class can stand alone as an elective or meet part of the Nutritional Psychology certificate course requirements. Seating is limited. Hope to see you!

NEW: Online Hyflex General Education Course (POLS 101)

On behalf of the Political Science Program


The Fall 2024 online section of POLS 101 American National Politics is asynchronous – so it can be made to fit your work week. But its weekly lecture-and-discussion session is also live, so when your schedule allows you can either attend in person or live-stream on Zoom. (Otherwise, just watch the recording.) Enroll is this HYFLEX course to learn all about how America’s government and politics really work. The course analyzes party polarization, congressional gridlock, the Constitution, Supreme Court, civil liberties, civil rights, political economy, public policy, and many other essential topics. Cannabinoids as Medicine (428)
