Dear Reader

Today, we heard a story about the negative consequences of adding someone you think you know or an old school friend to your Facebook.

You can never really know if the person you are adding is real or just a fake account of someone looking to cause trouble some way or the other.

Arguably, it is necessary now to do the necessary due diligence before accepting any friend requests on Facebook. If there is any doubt, simply do not add them, and if you have a strong suspicion it is a fake account, report it immediately to Facebook, who we know from personal experiences with cloned accounts, promptly take corrective actions, which we commend them for.

However, prevention is better than cure. So any doubt, save yourself the trouble. Anyone worth being a friend, will look you up in real life and have a real friendship with you. That is why it is always a real pleasure when you show up at your favorite bar at the end of the day and you see your friends there - even your best buddy you have known since you were a kid. The genuine joy you get from that unfortunately Facebook comes no where close in providing that same feeling, no matter the dopamine effect of the instant pleasure seeking behavior social media induces nowadays.

It is weekend, dear readers. Go out, have a drink with some real friends, have fun and enjoy the weekend!

Cheers!
