Dear Reader

The Curse of the Dutch Caribbean Airlines seems now to have hit interCaribbean Airways, the prospective take-over partner of Curacao-based ailing airline Inselair.

We have seen this played out so often over the past 15 years we can write a book about it. It all follows the same plot outline: Caribbean airline company looking to expand and capitalize on growth opportunity, accelerates expansion and growth and crashes and burns in the process.

Free Aviation Advice to interCaribbean Airways: consolidate and choose a growth path that is careful, deliberate. well-thought out and well-planned. Uncontrolled growth and hasty expansion is the demise of many Caribbean-based airline companies and definitely the case for many defunct Dutch Caribbean based aviation companies. Times are turbulent enough without history having to repeat itself once again.

Meanwhile, stay dry Caribbean people! Plenty rain is expected the coming days.
