Dear Reader
The aid supplies, donations and relief continue unabated. This newsletter features many such reports. Interestingly, one form of relief that is not just about the money, is the relief an ambulance team from the Netherlands will provide their colleagues here on St. Maarten: they will give them a break.
The personnel of our local ambulance department has been working day and night since from before hurricane Irma hit St. Maarten. The man St. Maarten will have to deal with in the new Dutch cabinet is State Secretary Raymond Knops. Office World celebrates their 28th anniversary. Winair has ordered new steel for the frame structure of their new hangar. DUO gives former students on St. Maarten a grace period until December 2018 on paying back their student loans.

Member of Parliament, Frans Richardson, has a point. Not every time a phone call is made to the Netherlands in the ongoing discussions regarding the reconstruction aid Holland is offering St. Maarten should the government of Sint Maarten run to the press and inform the general public of this. It is important that sensitive negotiations of this nature not be done via the media.
