Dear Reader

And because of that, there will be no school on Monday.

Yesterday, we receive no less than six letters to the editor. We are now pen pals with some of the most avid political letter writers on St. Maarten. The last time we saw so many letters to the editors was in the days of the polemic between the Unpaid Advisor, Gerard Bijnsdorp, and Nation Builder, Leopold James.

All this letterwriting led someone to post the definition of the verb to palter or its present participle paltering on Facebook. We thought this was spot on. It's definitely the season of the paltering polemics. Look it up yourself and see if it doesn't hit the nail on the head.

It promises to be a busy weekend and we will be manning the newsdesks in order to bring you the latest news as it develops this weekend leading up to election day come Monday. Who knows, there may be some last minute revelations that could swing votes in any direction.

In the meantime.... time for some non-election-related matters....
