Dear Reader

What is the difference between a Whistleblower and a Hotairblower?

A whistleblower is someone who exposes wrongdoings and presents the evidence to support his exposé.

A hot-air blower is someone who threatens to 'buss the pot', but does not back this up with action. Even worst is the hot-air blower who sends us an email telling us that we must do our jobs as journalists and dig for dirt against certain people in certain positions because they know for a fact the dirt exists.

What is the point of going through the trouble of using a false name and a fake email account to send out an email to the press without an ounce or shred of evidence to back up your claim? What are you afraid of?

Unfortunately, you discredit yourself and your claims when you chose to hide behind a rock and throw stones with the hope that your target will get hit.

We encourage 'Citizen Journalism' and investigative reporting and in this day and age with smartphones with built-in cameras it is very easy to become a reporter: just press record and there you go. Note the date, time and place and you have a report to file.

We googled it and there are a number of free online journalism courses.
Take one! We pay good money for news reports. And photographs!

Have a great day!
