Dear Reader
There is a saying: you don't get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate.
Member of parliament Frans Richardson questions the executive branch's ability to negotiate.
The discussions in parliament yesterday partly centered around the fact that conditions upon conditions upon conditions are being set as negotiations for financing continues with the Dutch government.
There is another saying that comes to mind: "Give them a finger and they take the whole hand."
But MP Theo Heyliger pointed out that 'beggars can't be choosers". Yet another saying.
Our own Hilbert Haar questions why none of the MPs have shown any gratitude for the financial assistance that is being made available to the airport. Develop an attitude of gratitude, is his point.
We end with a quote from Confucius: “I was complaining that I had no shoes till I met a man who had no feet.”
Something to think about.
In the meantime, read our edition of the Monday news.
Happy readings!
