Dear Reader

We will be having a new government on Monday.

Just in time. Because the economy in St. Maarten is at a precarious point.

The limbo effect caused by uncertainty about another possibly super-active hurricane season - which luckily has been down-played since the actual start of the official hurricane season on June 1st due to the El Niño effect - and the paralyzing effect this has had on business was augmented by the uncertainty of when a new government with a mandate to actually govern would replace the interim-ministers who were handicapped by their temporary status and limited ability to engage in long term decision-making and implementation of critical measures needed to get the economy going.

Fortunately for the new government cabinet, we have some unpaid advice from Hilbert Haar, who was generous enough to provide us with one more opinion piece entitled " Unpaid Advice to Incoming Government". You can read it now by becoming a patreon of StMaartenNews.com. Or you can wait until next week to read it during the big day for StMaartenNews.com. What that big day is, you will soon find out. Be on the look out. In the meantime, click here to access and unlock this opinion piece on our Patreon page.

Do enjoy reading our newsletter. With your support we will be broadening your reading options soon by bringing back a previous platform. What that previous platform is? We will give you enough time to guess the coming days.
