Dear Reader
The ongoing debate surrounding Christophe Emmanuel shows that when it comes to politics, St. Maarten people are deeply divided along party lines.
We fear this is a strong indication that no political party will obtain an outright majority, if ever. Certainly not in Monday's upcoming elections.
No matter the divisions, people have to remember that, again, when it comes to politics, today's opponent is tomorrow's partner. When the latter happens, you may ask yourself why you even bothered fighting with your friends over politics. The point is, supporters tend to take politics way too serious, way more serious than the politicians do themselves.
Don't waste time arguing with people over politics. Save your energy for the ballot and colour in the white circle with the red pencil and then sit back and watch who makes up their bed with which strange fellows.
