Parent Surveys: We want to hear from you!
Thank you to so many of you who have already provided us with valuable feedback via our parent survey. If you have not yet completed the survey, please do so by Wednesday, January 13. Surveys are anonymous, and will be used by our administration and school board to improve City Tree. Hearing from our parents about what we are doing well and what can be improved helps make us a better school and allows us to provide our children with the best education possible.
Information about Enrollment for 2021-2022
IMPORTANT HIGHLIGHTS REGARDING ENROLLMENT
FOR THE 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR:

-Priority Enrollment discount applies to additional siblings being enrolled.

-Registration fees go up on February 17th, save $100 before that date.

-Space is limited and in high demand, If the registration fee is not paid by February 16, then the child's spot may be forfeited.

2021-2022 Tuition Rates Posted
Tuition Rates for next year have been posted on our website. Each year tuition rates are posted in January prior to the Open Withdrawal Period. All students at City Tree are continuously enrolled. There is no need to fill out an enrollment packet again as you may have done in previous years.

January 1, 2021: Next year's Tuition Rates posted
February 1, 2021: Registration will be billed by this date via FACTS Tuition Management.
February 16, 2021: Discounted registration fee of $275 is due (If payment is not
made by this date, registration goes up to $375)
March 10, 2021: Last day to withdraw and have 21-22 registration fee refunded.

Planning for the Gala 2021
2021 Virtual Gala Donations Needed

The 2021 Virtual Gala is around the corner and we are gathering donations for the auctions and gift baskets.  If you would like to donate something or if you know of any individuals or businesses that would be willing to donate items please see the attached link with donation letter and form to be completed and emailed to ctcs.gala@gmail.com by February 1st
 
We are asking parents to solicit at least one donation with a value of at least $25. For example, gift cards or experiences for things like surfing, swimming or music lessons, local art work, birthday party hosting, dinner parties, art parties, restaurants etc. Ideally, these items would be donated instead of purchased, but we are aware that many of the prior year's donors are businesses which have been negatively impacted by COVID-19. So, purchasing items to donate is perfectly acceptable as well.
 
Earn a volunteer hour for each donation solicited. This year's virtual gala will be 2 hours long and by attending you will receive 2 hours for each parent. To obtain additional volunteer hours, we really need your help securing donations. Copies of the donation letter and donation record form have bee placed in your children’s take home folder and can be printed by clicking the buttons below.

All parents who are interested in learning more about our Elementary or Middle School programs are invited to schedule a phone call or mini-tour to learn more about our excellent academic programs and opportunities for students.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day, HOLIDAY, January 18
There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 18 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
All School Virtual Science Fair, January 21
Science Fair Information
  • All K-8 City Tree students have been hard at work on Science Fair projects.
  • Each elementary class investigated a topic and will present their research findings as a group.
  • City Tree's 6th - 8th grade students have been working individually or with a partner since early last fall on their projects. Middle School student's will present their findings via Zoom to Science Fair judges. Judging will occur on Wednesday, January 20.
  • On Thursday, January 21 the link to the Virtual Science Fair will be released to parents. During the Virtual Science Fair, students and parents can review both class projects and individual projects.
  • Awards will be also be announce at that time.
  • Outstanding 6th-8th grade projects from City Tree's Science Fair will be selected to be considered for the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair.
  • This is a great learning opportunity for parents and children together.

Safety First
Drop off and Pick up Zones
Families, we know that the curb-side parking spots fill up at times, but we would rather your student be a minute late than have you J walk, double park or block the road and create the opportunity for an accident. Please do not get out of your car or let your child exit your car unless you are parked on the curb. Please take time and wait for a spot to open up. If you need to cross the street, please use the crosswalk especially on 4th Avenue and 3rd Avenue crossings.

COVID-19 Important Reminders

City Tree Families,

As we return to school after Christmas break, our area is particularly impacted with COVID cases. Please be extremely vigilant so that we can keep our school community as safe as possible. Please take time to carefully read the reminders below.

Reminders:

  • Contact the school office (619-232-3794) immediately if your is sick, your child is a close contact with anyone who is COVID positive, if your child is presumed to be COVID positive or does actually test as COVID positive.
  • We are also requesting that if anyone in the home is sick, please keep all students home until it is determined the illness is not COVID by getting a negative COVID test result.
  • At drop-off and pick-up times everyone should be wearing masks.
  • At drop-off and pick-up times please maintain social distancing from staff, children, and other parents.
  • Make sure your K-8 students come to school each day wearing a clean mask, that fits their face. comfortably, and stays over their nose. It is also very helpful if you remind your student that they are expected to wear their mask at school.
  • Make sure your child brings a warm sweatshirt or jacket each day. We are outside more and we also open windows when we can to increase ventilation. Please clearly label these items with your child's first and last name.
  • Bring a labeled water bottle each day.
  • K-8 students should bring a beach towel or blanket to school. This helps with social distancing at the park, at lunch, and in other situations.
  • Keep your students home if you notice they are not well. We will have to send them home if they come to school with cold/flu symptoms.
  • We are asking that if you "traveled or gathered" over the holiday break, that you get tested before returning to school or if needed delay your return to school so that we don't inadvertently spread it once we all return.
  • If you find out ANY member of your family has been around someone who has tested positive for COVID, please keep your student home until you receive your results back. This will help eliminate a potential close contact being in contact with others on our campus.*
*We want you to know that all protocols we are following are given to us by the County Health Department, but this specific request is our own. We are realizing that following this simple guideline, during the Regional Stay Home Order, will cut down on possible exposures in our classrooms!

Clorox Wipes Needed
Bring in containers of Clorox wipes and earn parent volunteer hours. Clorox wipes have become a necessity around our school campus and are used daily to help keep areas sanitized We thank you in advance for your donations!!

Family Participation Hours
Parents are an essential part of City Tree Christian School. Besides the critical support you give to the school when you help your child with homework and support your child's teacher, parent volunteers help City Tree run more smoothly. We wouldn't be able to do many extra things without your involvement. 
 
To log your hours, please sign in to FACTS Family Portal. Click on "Family" - "Family Home" and your hours are listed on the top right hand side of the page. Select the adult who volunteered from the drop down menu at the top of the page, and then click "Add."
