Dear Members and Friends,

We are writing to alert you to the possibility that you may get some texts or emails which appear to have come from Unitarian Universalist Church of Fresno. We have not had anyone report that it has happened locally, however, we have heard that it is happening elsewhere. Unfortunately, scammers are hard at work attempting to take advantage of the chaotic environment due to the coronavirus. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Please take the time to look carefully at the email addresses that these messages come from. Communications from UUCF are through our hosted email service and end with @uufresno.org, with the exception of Lorenzo Bassman who utilizes her personal gmail account.
  • Currently, the church does not utilize mass texting as a means of communication.
  • UUCF will never ask you to send gift cards.
  • If you receive suspicious messages or solicitations from someone claiming to write on behalf of Unitarian Universalist Church of Fresno, please let us know by sending an email to office@uufresno.org.

For more information on UUCF's response to COVID-19 please visit our website www.uufresno.org , or find us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/UUFresno/ .

Please take care and continue to support each other during this challenging time.

Hoping you and your family is well in body, mind, and spirit,

Jodi Baker,
Administration & Facilities Manager
