State of the #ChamberQuest

Hello Ryder,

City Council chambers; the room where it happens. Around the dais, elected officials and enthusiastic residents meet on the field to deliberate and discuss. These rooms unite or divide, but they are the public venues in which the building blocks of our representative government are built.

Since the early days of Tripepi Smith, I’ve been on a mission to visit as many city halls as possible, otherwise known the #ChamberQuest. Pursuit of the venues takes me on twenty minute detours or disrupts family trips upon occasion. Each community is unique, and their council chambers are no different. From architecture to decor, each has its own style and they often reflect either the personality or the state of affairs with the city government.

I started this journey in Orange County, and have since visited 209 California city halls and another 15+ outside California (Oregon, Washington, Alaska, North Carolina, Ohio, Florida and as far as Québec City). As I travel the world, I love that all local governments are connected in this way. It is a great way to explore America. I track my progress on a custom Google map here

My apologies if I have not made it to your city hall yet. #TripepiSmithLife is keeping me quite busy, but I sometimes fantasize about taking a day off to visit 8-10 city halls in one day (I am looking at you, Aliso Viejo and Laguna Woods). Yes. I am that much of a nerd. Please warn your front desk staff that if this Ryder guy shows up asking for a chamber selfie - try to indulge him.

Thumbs Up,

Ryder
