“It takes a special kind of teacher to be a Mind-Builder."

In Loving Memory

We dedicate this month's spotlight, in loving memory, to longtime Mind-Builders family member, Ankh Ra Amenhetep.

Ankh Ra Amenhetep, founder of the Awakening Youth Ensemble, former Mind-Builders PYT Arts Director and Musical Director, and member of our PYT Alumni Reunion Committee, was an award winning songwriter, vocal coach and integral part of the Mind-Builders community. On July 6th his beloved family shared that he peacefully transitioned.

In his words, “at the tender age of fifteen years old I founded, musically and vocally directed and composed the music for a twenty-five voice community choir…. My mission and intention is to use the power of music and the voice as a vehicle of inspiration, education and empowerment!”

He will be sorely missed.

$5/hr Dance Rehearsal Space at Mind-Builders!

Spread The Word!

Did you know that Mind-Builders received funding from Dance/NYC to provide subsidized dance rehearsal space? The funding allows us to provide $5/hr private studio space! We believe this is an amazing opportunity for dancers in our community to have a safe, comfortable and most importantly, affordable space to practice their forms of movement. So if you know anyone that can benefit from this, please share this information with them. We really want our community to take advantage of this opportunity.
