(Mattoon, IL) October 12, 2022 - The city of Mattoon, IL has partnered with Rural King to market a brand-new sports complex known as Emerald Acres Sports Connection. The first-rate sports venue is set to begin construction in March of 2023, and plans to open in early 2024. Situated on 150 acres, the complex is predicted to attract 580,000 visitors annually and $23.8 million in direct economic impact.
The Shops at Emerald Acres Sports Connection is the retail, restaurant, and hotel component of this exciting new development, located within walking distance of the sports complex. The 127,956 SF shopping center is already negotiating leases for 67.5% of its available space.
