HOC Residents,

In advance of the winter storm set to hit our area this weekend, HOC wants to ensure you have the information and resources needed to stay safe and informed. Below, you'll find information on reporting issues, updates on snow plowing procedures, utility contacts, and shelter options for those in need. If you are having a non-snow related emergency, please call 9-1-1.

HOC Snow Plowing Procedures

If you live in an HOC managed multifamily property, including Tobytown, Holiday Park, Pomander, Brooke Park, or Lasko Manor, HOC will coordinate plowing, shoveling and salting roads and sidewalks to maintain safe access. Due to lack of salt supplies throughout the region, no salting will be done until the storm has passed.

Third-party managed properties will coordinate snow removal according to each property’s needs.

Montgomery County Snow Plowing Procedures

Montgomery County's snow removal crews prioritize major roads and emergency routes before moving to residential areas.

  • Track plowing operations in your neighborhood via the Storm Operations Map which can be found at: montgomerycountymd.gov/snow/
  • If your street hasn’t been cleared within 24-36 hours after the storm ends, submit a service request to MC311 or through the County service request portal. Please give 36-40 hours if snowfall exceeds 15'', and 48-60 hours if snowfall exceeds 24''.
  • If a state road or highway hasn't been cleared within the same timeframe, call the State Highway Administration at 301-513-7300, or submit an online request through its customer care website.
