Emergency Registration to Support the Pandemic
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Health has asked that the CDBC makes emergency registration available to former registrants who would be available to assist with the health care system capacity.
More concretely, the CDBC has been tasked by government with building a list, as quickly as possible, of those applicants who are currently eligible for practicing dietetics.
If you are a former CDBC registrant within the last 3 years, have no criminal record and are willing and able to practice, please contact the CDBC. The following information is required:
-           Full name
-           Inactive registration number
-           Location or Health Authority where you are available to practice
-           Area of dietetic practice you are able to work in (ex. clinical nutrition, food service management, public health), and
-           Restricted activities you would be competent and safe to practice
Please email info@collegeofdietitiansbc.org with the object "Emergency registration for COVID-19 pandemic" if you are able to assist with the health care system response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
By providing your information to the College you are consenting for your registration information to be shared with BC government agencies and health authorities.
If you are contacted and asked to come back to practice, please notify the College so we can immediately process your emergency registration. You will be asked to consent to a criminal record check and declare that you are competent to practice. There is no fee for emergency registration and the license is valid for 90 days. If the emergency continues to be in effect after 90 days, the Registrar may renew the license for another 90 days, as needed.
Please contact the College staff if you have questions.
