Together, We Give
At PPCF, we believe our community will thrive if we understand its greatest needs and address them with meaningful funding to create transformative results.

Because of you, PPCF's Emergency Relief Fund was able to respond to the immediate needs of our community, quickly and efficiently. This Tuesday, May 5 , there is another opportunity to support our beloved community.

#GivingTuesday , the global generosity movement generally held the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, has announced   #GivingTuesdayNow , a worldwide day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5, 2020 as a response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19.

The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. Together, we can still show social connection and come together on behalf of our communities even while practicing physical distancing.
How to Engage
Whether you are an individual, nonprofit, small business, or corporate entity, you can contribute to #GivingTuesdayNow by donating your COVID-19 stimulus check or providing a personal donation to the following:
  • COSConnect - If you are able to give your time or donate material goods to organizations that need your help, Gazette Charities' COSConnect will help you get connected.

  • PPCF Emergency Relief Fund - The Emergency Relief Fund, activated when a state of emergency is declared by the state or municipal agency, is designed to make giving to support nonprofits impacted by an event easy for donors and for impacted nonprofits to apply for funding. To date, with your help, we have granted more than $1 million to 55 nonprofits in the first 6 weeks of the pandemic.

  • Community Impact Investment Fund - As a response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Community Impact Investment Fund is partnering with Exponential Impact to offer low-interest, low-barrier loans to local, small businesses and nonprofits through the Survive & Thrive COS Fund.

  • Pikes Peak Community Foundation - We are devoted to the vibrancy and resilience of our region for generations to come. For more than 90 years we have mobilized resources to effectively address issues facing the Pikes Peak Region. Your operating gift ensures our ability to remain flexible and address even the most unexpected needs when they arise.
Details on Charitable Deductions
Standard Deduction
The CARES ACT allows you to take a tax deduction for contributions made to qualified charitable entities up to $300 per year starting in 2020 – this deduction is “above-the-line.” The 2020 Standard deduction is $12,400 for individuals and $24,800 for married couples filing jointly, therefore any donation to qualifying charities of up to $300 will be added to the standard rate of deduction.

Itemized Deduction
The CARES ACT allows you to take a tax deduction of up to 100% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for contributions to qualifying charities starting in 2020. The new law temporarily lifts the limits on charitable giving from 60% of a taxpayer’s AGI to 100% for 2020.
Corporate Donations
The CARES ACT allows an entity to take a tax deduction of up to 25% of their Adjusted Tax Income for contributions to qualifying charities starting in 2020. The new law temporarily lifts the limits from 10% of adjusted taxable income to 25% for 2020.

If you are in the fortunate position of being able to help our community during this time, we appreciate your consideration in making a gift on May 5.
