Malaysia – King’s Birthday
An event that is welcomed with grandeur and seeing Malaysians take out their finest outfit, the birthday of Agong (the Malaysian King) is earmarked as a day of celebration and joyous moments. Locally known as Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the King of Malaysia’s speech on his special day is something that traditionally has kept many Malaysian nationals close to their television on this day, June 7th.
One of the most important public events occurring during Agong’s Birthday is the “Trooping of the Colours” parade in Kuala Lumpur: a spectacle that draws a crowd from across greater Kuala Lumpur.
