ESSENTIAL STUDENT GUIDES
AND FALL CLASS SCHEDULE

We Get Asked ....
WHY SYNCHRONOUS CLASSES CAN'T BE RECORDED
|
|
- Live SYNCHRONOUS courses aren't allowed to be recorded in Canvas as we are unable to collect funding unless students attend the actual live sessions.
- Under the emergency situation when the pandemic began, the State allowed us to offer all classes as ASYNCHRONOUS that COULD be recorded, and still receive full reimbursement. Now the situation has changed in regard to reimbursement standards.
- Since Emeritus classes are tuition-free for students, we are contingent upon State reimbursement rules to continue offering lifelong learning courses.
Thank you for your understanding.

CLASS ATTENDANCE: AN IMPORTANT REMINDER
|
|
Since Emeritus Institute classes are tuition-free for students, how does the program run?
Since there is no cost to you, the Emeritus Institute must rely on State-funded reimbursement to continue offering our lifelong learning courses.
How does this reimbursement work?
Each time a student attends a class, we receive a funding allotment.
What does this mean?
Simply put: STUDENT ATTENDANCE is the "life blood" of our program!
I love Emeritus classes! What can I do as a student?
There are TWO WAYS to show your appreciation for the Emeritus Institute.
1) Be sure to attend your classes as often as possible -- all of them if you can! This will ensure the highest reimbursement to our program.
2) Make a tax-deductible donation to the Emeritus Institute. Click here to donate and to learn more. Each and every donation is greatly appreciated!

THE LATEST: THE RETURN OF IN-PERSON CLASSES
|
|
If you're like many Emeritus Students, you may be wondering when classes will be meeting in-person again. Here's what you need to know:
WHEN
We're actively preparing for a return to in-person classes for the Spring 2022 Semester beginning January 18, barring any virus-related changes. The health of our students and college team of professionals is always our first priority.
WHERE
We're currently in discussions with our 35+ partner teaching sites and working out details of meeting in-person again at these facilities. As the Spring Semester draws closer, we will have more information for you.
CLASS FORMAT PREFERENCES
One thing we've learned in past months is that many Emeritus Students are looking forward to attending in-person classes again, but there are also a large number of you who enjoy the freedom and flexibility of online classes. That's why students will find a mixture of BOTH in-person and online classes in the upcoming Spring 2022 Class Schedule that will be available soon.
SPRING UPDATES
We'll update you each month right here in the Emeritus Institute eNewsletter...
