What is CANVAS? CANVAS is a learning management system known for its USER-FRIENDLY online environment. You will be using it participate in your online classes. CANVAS will connect you with your instructor and classmates, and provide an exceptional learning experience! This GUIDE provides the basics to get students started in CANVAS. The more you use it, the easier it will become!

STEP 1: Watch this 4 minute CANVAS OVERVIEW video. CLICK HERE STEP 2: Go to the Saddleback College website wwws.saddleback.edu. and click on the word "CANVAS" at top right. STEP 3: If this is the FIRST TIME you are using CANVAS, you will need to "Re-set" your password by creating one. In the CANVAS login box, click "Forgot Password." In the "Account Management" box, click "I have forgotten my password." Enter your College Email Address: Click "Proceed." Click "Mobile." Enter the last 4 digits of your cell phone number. Click "Send Code" which will send a text to your phone. Enter the code number where it indicates on the screen. Click "Verify." Create a new password and type it in TWICE. Minimum requirements are: 8 characters, 1 Uppercase Letter, 1 Number, 1 Special Character (example: !@#$%^&*) Click "Change Password." Save your password! Store it in your computer or cell phone. STEP 4: Log into CANVAS with your USER NAME and the password you just created. You will see your Dashboard. STEP 5: Create your User Settings and Profile Picture. Use GOOGLE CHROME as your browser as it's the most compatible. Read any emails sent to you by your instructors via Saddleback email.
