AP® SCHOLAR AWARDS

Emerson Junior-Senior High School is proud to announce that 32 students have earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their exceptional achievement on AP Exams. The school district is grateful for the hard work of our students and the teachers and staff that support them.

The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on student performance on AP Exams. At Emerson:

  • 11 students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. These students are:  Patricia Baran, William Bollbach, Jacob Denekamp, Madeleine Diaz, Jamie Falotico, Sophia Garcia, Renni Johnson, Nicholas Law, Celine Mallouhi, Om Patel, and Olivia Piserchia

  • 8 students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. These students are: Marco Amaral, Ryan Balsam, Mia Bonner, Olivia Burns, Nicholas Colloca, Benjamin Gropler, Nicole Romano, and Sarah Walsh

  • 13 students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP Exams with scores of 3 or higher. The AP Scholars are: Jennifer Asitimbay, Alexandra Belevan, Thomas Benkovic, Jessica Brenner, Brooke DeSantis, Angela Ding, Daniel Granucci, Jamie Hernandez, Zuzu Hill, Khalid Itani, Angelika Kropiewnicki, Carli Sorvino, and Emma Worthington

Of this year’s award recipients at Emerson, 10 students are returning for the 2022-23 school year. These students have at least one more year in which to complete college-level work and possibly earn a higher-level AP Scholar Award.

The College Board’s Advanced Placement Program® (AP®) provides willing and academically prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school, and to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both for successful performance on the AP Exams. About 22 percent of the 2.2 million students worldwide who took AP Exams performed at a sufficiently high level to also earn an AP Scholar Award.
